What it’s all about: sharing history with relatives

Our final day dawned clear, but still with a wind whipping up the waves. However, we couldn’t hang around as we had to head back to catch the Chunnel & arrange to meet up with Pat & Joan Gillespie – Pat is the niece of Gerald Willen

They were heading over to France to visit Paris, but were hoping to get out & visit The Shed (which they managed to do) & so we’d agreed to meet up whilst they were in London to pass on directions, have a drink & a beer and a chat.

There was a slight panic as their luggage had been lost & they were jet-lagged but none of this stopped us having a great chat in a traditional British pub

In many ways, this sums up much of what I’ve tried (and am continuing to try) to do with this blog & research: add tiny pieces of history back into people’s family trees & it’s great when I have the opportunity to do so face to face
