For this group of Normandy PoWs, held briefly in the shed, I’ve only been able to ascertain some basic information. Returning PoW Questionnaires, and details of Red Cross Parcels sent. In once case, details of where he’s buried in Prague.

For these men, save for Wellings, I have been able (with assistance from the National Archives http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/) to find their “Returning PoW Questionnaires”.

In addition, with help from the staff at The Green Howard’s Museum in Richmond (http://www.greenhowards.org.uk/) I have been able to add a little more detail to the stories of those in that Regiment.

Finally, and sadly, through the Commonwealth War Graves Commission site (http://www.cwgc.org/) I have been able to find out a little more information on Pte Clifford Wellings who did not survive the war.
